Algonquin College, established in 1967, is one of Canada’s largest public colleges. It is situated in Ottawa, Canada’s capital and known as the ‘Silicon Valley of the North’, within one of the city’s three major business centres. The college ranks among the top five of Canada’s 150 colleges and has been recognised by the Ontario College Association as the best large public college, whilst also being named the public college with the highest employment rate in Canada. The college not only offers credit transfer programmes in partnership with leading universities in the US, Canada and Australia, but also has cooperation agreements with renowned enterprises and companies in Ottawa, providing students with work placement and employment opportunities.

Algonquin College comprises three main campuses and a total of eleven schools: the School of Technology, the School of Business, the School of Tourism and Hospitality Management, the School of Media and Design, the School of Health and Community, the School of Transportation and Construction, the School of Languages, the School of Policing and Public Safety, the School of Heritage Conservation (Perth Campus), the Ottawa Valley College (Pembroke Campus) and the College of Higher Education Preparation.

Tips for success in obtaining your Algonquin College Document Diploma

How to Graduate Successfully

To graduate successfully from Algonquin College, it ultimately comes down to two things: completing all required courses and maintaining good academic standing.

Specifically, you must complete every course listed in your programme, fulfil the 25 per cent on-campus study requirement, and maintain a cumulative GPA of at least 1.7. Certain programmes have higher thresholds; for example, in Veterinary Technician and Nursing, you must achieve 60 per cent or even 70 per cent in individual subjects to pass. For programmes with a Co-op component, you must complete the prescribed work placements; failure to do so will result in a delay in graduation.

Before you leave, there are two minor details that are easily overlooked. Tuition fees and all other charges must be settled; there must be no outstanding balances. You should also log into ACSIS to double-check your name and postal address; if the information does not match, your diploma may be withheld. Should this occur, you can contact Documentsdesign to have a digital image of your diploma created, temporarily alleviating the inconvenience of not having the physical document.
